Overview

The Super Novice job change is a special first-job advancement available to Novices who embrace the “jack of all trades” path. This guide walks you through changing from Novice to Super Novice with Tzerero in Al De Baran, and it also includes tips for the Expanded Super Novice promotion.

Requirements

  • Base Level: 45 (Novice)
  • Job Level: 10 (Novice)
  • Skills: All Basic Skills learned (spend all Novice skill points)
  • Items (for the qualification test):
  • Zeny: None required for the job change

Step 1: Meet Tzerero in Aldebaran Inn

  • Map: aldeba_in
  • Coordinates: (223, 167)
  • NPC: Tzerero

What to do:

  • Talk to Tzerero and choose to accept his offer to become a Super Novice.

Checks and advice:

  • If you are not a Novice, or are a Baby Novice (Upper = 1), you cannot proceed here.
  • If you haven’t reached Base Level 45 and Novice Job Level 10 with all Basic Skills learned, he will tell you to come back later.

Step 2: The Qualification Test – Collect Items

Tzerero asks you to bring him the following items, dropped by common monsters:

Tips:

  • These are common drops; check beginner fields around Prontera or Payon for quick farming.
  • You can bring them in any order, but you must have 30 of each in your inventory at the same time to proceed.

Step 3: Change Job to Super Novice

Return to Tzerero with the required items.

What happens:

  • He will take your items and complete the quest (6010).
  • You receive: 1 × Pantie (G_Strings)
  • You are changed from Novice to Super Novice.

Notes:

  • If you are a Super Baby (Upper = 2), you will become a Super Baby instead.
  • Enjoy the humorous dialogue – Tzerero loves a good prank.

Optional: Kafra Cart Rental for Super Novices

Once you are a Super Novice, a special Kafra Employee in Aldebaran offers cart rental support.

  • Map: aldebaran
  • Coordinates: (54, 238)
  • Requirement: Have the “Push Cart” skill, and 1,900 zeny.

What to do:

  • Talk to Kafra Employee and select “Rent a Cart.”
  • If you already have a cart equipped, you can’t rent another.

Expanded Super Novice (Optional Promotion)

After becoming a Super Novice, there is an optional high-end promotion often referred to as “Expanded Super Novice.” This requires very high levels and a short questline.

Prerequisites:

  • Base Level > 98 and Job Level > 98 (as a Super Novice)

How to begin:

  • Talk to Esseray in aldeba_in at (216, 169).
  • He directs you to someone in Comodo.

Main steps summary (scripted behavior):

  1. Meet Nodor at beach_dun2 (119, 92) and follow his instructions.
  2. Hunt 1,000 monsters of a randomly assigned type (one of: Poring, Lunatic, Fabre, Picky).
  3. Deliver zeny to Nudor on the Airship (various amounts accepted: 100,000 / 300,000 / 1,000,000 or all you have).
  4. Return to Nodor to trigger the promotion event. Make sure you have used all your skill points.
  5. Your job is upgraded (script uses a third-tier flag for Super Novice), followed by some celebratory dialogue and potential gear rewards.

Reward notes (from script):

  • You may receive equipment like Novice Breastplate [1] and other novice-themed gear depending on donation amount and progression flags.
